Sydney: Fb stated Tuesday it is going to elevate a contentious ban on Australian information pages “in the coming days”, after the federal government agreed to amend a world-first media regulation fiercely opposed by the tech large.

Treasurer Josh Frydenberg and Fb indicated a compromise had been reached on key features of a regulation that might drive digital giants to pay information corporations for content material.

“As a result of these changes, we can now work to further our investment in public interest journalism, and restore news on Facebook for Australians in the coming days,” stated Will Easton, managing director of Fb Australia.
