(AP) LOS ANGELES -Whitney Houston‘s life, lived with glorious song and unnerving self-destruction, came to an abrupt end in a Beverly Hilton Hotel bathtub on Grammy weekend, but investigators might not be privileged to know how she died for weeks to come.
Coroner’s officials say no information on an autopsy that was carried out on Sunday at the request of police detectives investigating the singer’s death would be released. Whitney was found dead in the bathtub of her hotel room, but Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter refused to comment on the condition of the room used by the singer before her death.
Nothing indicated the presence of foul play, not yet, and there are no obvious signs of trauma on Houston’s body, but officials were not ruling out any causes of death until they could have toxicology results, which will likely take weeks for them get.
There are tendency Beverly Hills police agency may release more special details on Monday about Houston’s death according to Beverly Hills Police Lt’ Mark Rosen, but that also depends on whether detectives feel comfortable releasing any information.
Security have refused to release autopsy results, and this has been the case in some high-profile Los Angeles cases, for instance, Michael Jackson’s results were withheld for weeks while detectives connected the circumstances of his death in June 2009. Toxicology results are often necessary before the coroner will make available an official cause of death.
