Federal Government of Nigeria Suspends Dana Air’s Operating License

The Nigeria Federal Government has suspended the operating license of Dana Air.

The action took effect on Tuesday, following the crash of its MD83 jet in Iju Ishaga, Lagos, Nigeria.

Non of the 153 passengers and crew on-board the aircraft survived the plane crash. A number of people in the building the plane crashed into also died.

A top aviation source has told Nigeria news site, Punch, that the airline’s license was withdrawn to enable a free investigation into the incident.

The source said the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority would issue a statement on the matter on Tuesday.
